SUBMIT A SCRIPT

We’re very keen to read as many great new scripts as possible so that’s why we’re so excited about opening this page to help writers understand what we’re looking for and to explain how to send your screenplays to us. Please read this in full.

So, what type of scripts are we interested in?

We’re interested in powerful stories, no matter which genre they’re in.

We judge scripts based on the originality of the story, the emotional journey of the characters, and the quality of the writing.

This is a list of genres which we are always looking for:

• romantic comedies
• romantic dramas
• comedies
• horror
• soldier stories
• low budget action
• thriller or crime drama
• children and family

We do ask that you only submit your best work, and that you take the time to ensure that the format of your script conforms to industry standards.

Please send us a logline first, and if we’ll show interest and contact you, continue to the next steps.

Please read through your script before you send it to us. We’re not going to PASS your script for having a typo, but typos and spelling mistakes take a reader out of the story, and indicate that you might not care as much about the project as we need you to. It’s in your interest to check through it.

There are several genres that we like, and yet are harder to get produced, but if you have the best one out there – then let’s take a look: Drama, coming of age film, high-school or college based film and finally, road trips.

The fact that a certain type of story is a harder sell does not intimidate us. We are looking for strong dramatic elements, and as long as your project has them – then we’d love to read your script and fight to get your story on the screen.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

But, hold on! Before sending us anything please be sure to read and follow our strict SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

READ them all – but here are the most important:

1. You MUST attach a signed, NOTARIZED RELEASE FORM or REPPED RELEASE FORM (for writers with agents or legal representatives).
   
2. You MUST clearly mark your name, up to date contact details and your WGA or copyright number on the front of your script.
   
3. You MUST number your pages.
   
4. Mark your envelope – SCREENPLAY, NOTARIZED RELEASE ENCLOSED
   
5. Send to:

6. You MUST enclose a postage paid, self addressed postcard if you require date stamped receipt and arrival confirmation.

We don’t mind which form you use – we still read your script.

New Love Films is accepting screenplays, short films, commercial and directing reels. In order to submit your material, please e-mail us a query letter with a brief description of your work.

Query Letter Sample: (Please DO NOT send any attachments, your query will not be read)

Unfortunately, due to the amount of submissions we receive, we will not return your work nor can we accept scripts via e-mail. Only U.S. mail.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

• All scripts should be printed on 8 1/2” X 11” paper.
• All scripts must be bound by 2 1 1/4” brass brad fasteners in the top and bottom left corners.
• All scripts must be properly formatted.
• All scripts must have a coverpage bound to the script.
• All of your contact info (including e-mail address) should be printed on the coverpage of your script.
